Sexy on the Inside - Rob Bell

I listened to a Rob Bell message recently titles "Sexy on the Inside".  It really had me thinking.  He spoke of how God created us as sexual beings...he spoke of how we can channel are sexual energy.  He talked about how many people in this world that accomplish great things, i.e.  Mother Theresa, are actually very sexual people.  It is just that our view of sex, sexy, and sexual energy is extremely narrow.  Below are some of the things I took away from his talk.

Sexy:  is when it feels good to be in your own skin

Sexy is when you are on the inward journey and so you are more and more ok with who God made you to be.  You are becoming who you are.  You are becoming more you.

As I am more and more comfortable in my own skin,  with who I am, then I am far more able to connect with you.  And if I am ok with who I am, then I will be less jealous, less envious, less angry, less offended.  A lot of times our issues with each other are issues with ourselves and we are just not being honest about it. As I am more ok with who God made me, I can extend it to you.

As I am more ok with who I am, and more and more comfortable in my own skin, then I am probably less and less angry or bitter at God, or you owe me.  I become more and more “Thank you God”, I become grateful.

I become more centered and I have more peace, and as Jesus the resurrected Christ begins to speak to me and again and again invite me to leave behind the old so I can step into the new, I am more and more at peace on the inside.  My own skin feels better and better.

I am more and more centered and more and more connected with God, because God has given me a good life.  I am at peace with the work God has given me to do, interacting with the world around me.

I am glad that you started posting again. I like your new rock star pic on your blo. Hey I just read your “about” section and I had no idea that you were in Big Fil. To tell you the truth I didn’t realize Rob Bell was the voice of Big Fil. When I was in a band called Thief on the Right (we sucked but anyway) We did a gig with Big Fil and like 6 other bands down in Hastings at Thornapple Valley Church. Were you drumming then?

Oh yeah sorry, about this post: this definition of sexy is strange to me but I’d be interested to hear more.
